HOW TO MAKE YOUR HOME SAFE FOR BABY

Dear mother ,it would be a great idea if  you can begin riskproofing your home by getting down on your hands and knees ,looking around each room from your baby’s perspective before he or she begins crawling, standing and walking. Here are some tips

  1. Keep first aid supplies and medicines in a locked cupboard, out of reach, and make sure others know where to find the supplies in your home and how to respond in an emergency. Make sure you have poison proofed your home in every way.
  1. Reinstall all electrical sockets in your house above a toddler’s reach. Install baby-proof plugs in electrical outlets and keep your baby away from electrical cords.
  2. Keep pens, scissors, letter openers, staplers, paper clips and other sharp instruments in locked drawers.
  3. Domestic fires pose one of the greatest risks to children. Children playing with matches and lighters frequently start house fires. Keep matches and lighters out of sight and reach of children. Extinguish and dispose of cigarettes properly. Have an escape route planned, and practice it, in case of fire. Fit smoke alarms and check them regularly. If possible install smoke detectors in every bedroom and one near the kitchen.
