DANGER SIGNS IN THE NEW BORN

Dear mom; you should be aware of the danger signs which require immediate medical attention. If you notice any of the following signs in your newborn you must contact your pediatrician immediately.

Undue lethargy, excessive crying, refusal to take feeds, frothing or drooling from mouth, choking at feeds, respiratory difficulty, convulsions, excessive vomiting especially blood or bile stained (green colored), pus collection anywhere in the body, umbilicus (navel) infection, skin infection, bluish discoloration of the lips and tongue, jaundice appearing within first 24-hours of life, failure to pass motion within 24-hours of birth and urine within 36 hours, high fever etc.

Hope you will never have occasion to rush to a doctor for any of these.
